It has been rather an interesting journey so far, we spent the night at a motel in Tweed Heads where all manner of strange things happened. Firstly the room was as expected for $75 for the night, but it had a bed & a shower. What we weren’t expecting was the knock on the door at around 6pm from an indigenous guy that asked if we had found a plastic container that he had left in the room from the night before for his sister girl, he barged in and checked the bathroom & the cupboard & then left abruptly when we suggested he see the manager. Next we heard a noise outside the room that we had to investigate & it was the same guy opening the cupboard outside our room looking for the same plastic container, once again we suggested he check with the manager, but that was met with a reluctance that got us a bit concerned.
All good, him & his sister girl left and the next thing we had another knock on the door, this time it was the guy from next door who had locked himself out of the room and wanted to use our balcony to jump to his balcony so he could get back in, who were we to object.
We managed to get some sort of very disturbed night sleep, but woke with the knowledge that we could sleep on the plane. At the airport 2 ½ hrs early and checked in without a hiccup, through customs & did our duty free shopping including buying our duty free on return with a 10% discount.
This was our second experience with premium seats with Airasia, and it only gets better & better. There were only 12 premium seats and we had lay flat pod seats with all the mod cons including a power point that allowed us to plug in my laptop and watch the movies we had on it. The service was impeccable; the hostesses were so friendly & couldn’t do enough for us, compares easily with Qantas, Jetstar & Singapore airlines. Of course the only choice you had in drinks was Carlton beer, white or red wine, so we sneaked a couple of bottles of Johnny Walker Black on board and ordered lots of coke. We did eventually run out of that so started on the wine they offered, Jacob’s Creek, not a bad drop. Marty says HI.
On arrival in KL we were met with the heat of Asia, god I love the heat. Arrived in our room & had a cool down then made our way to China Town for dinner. Unfortunately our mate with no teeth had left the restaurant so our much-anticipated hug didn’t happen, but we had a great meal & then found some T-shirts for Marty. Back to the room for a nights sleep & await tomorrows adventures.
